New Dean, Werklund School of Agriculture Technology joins the College

Olds College of Agriculture & Technology is pleased to welcome Jay Steeves into the role of Dean of the Werklund School of Agriculture Technology. Steeves comes to the College with over 23 years of experience in the field of education, including leadership roles with Chinook’s Edge School Division. 

“We are very excited to welcome Mr. Steeves to our leadership team,” comments Debbie Thompson, Vice-President, Academic & Student Experience. “As we continue to launch new programs, such as our Digital Agriculture Degree, and grow our student population we need strong leaders like Mr. Steeves who bring both experience and expertise in the education sector.” 

The Werklund School of Agriculture Technology offers programs in agriculture, agriculture technology, and land and environment studies. In August, the College announced the approval of a new Bachelor of Digital Agriculture Degree; the first baccalaureate degree to be offered by Olds College of Agriculture & Technology.

Steeves officially joins the College on Sept. 26, 2022. He holds a Master of Education Degree specializing in Educational Technology, a Graduate Certificate in Creative Collaboration and Design Thinking, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
